Denis Rouette
Denis was born at Point-of-Lake, small country municipality going along the St-Laurence river.
As of its childhood, he is initiated to arts by the music, which leads him later to Montreal in Graphic arts. These studies
make him discover the oil-base painting. Due to his natural talent in drawing, he develops an always growing interest for
painting. Among the years, he discovers intuitive painting. The models take shape in his dreams and he reproduces these
splendid flowers coming from another world.
These last years, Denis makes a return to childhood and rediscovers the colouring pencil, which enables him to widen his
achievements towards the portrait, the animals and "natures mortes" (Still lifes).
Being a carpenter's son, he discovered a passion for cabinet work. He learns woodcarving in a self-educated way to
supplement his achievements; cupboards doors and figurines occupy his spare times.
Man of great talents, he transmits in his works the love, the harmony and the softness through his passions.
